kerekere seeks to form a community of solidarity that challenges the motivational assumptions of the capitalism culture by establishing relationships that value the dignity of human life.  We strive to increase social inclusion, freedom from discrimination and violence and access to economic resources by providing opportunities to a sustainable livelihood.

The current global economy is creating a range of structural inequalities.  Our love affair with the market has meant that some people are better positioned to benefit than others.  As a result, a need has been identified for business to explore methods to redress these inequalities and re-establish the health and well being of society.

kerekere was established in this context as a way to pursue social justice.

kerekere is a Fijian custom in which a relative or neighbour may ask for something that is needed, and it must be willingly given without expectation of repayment
